These two medals are, respectively, the Contagious Medal for Awesome, and the Special Award for Classroom Bravery.

The first was awarded to a new friend on a most glorious afternoon of extremely random social creativity, and carries with it the duty of making another to pass on with the same terms.
It was a very fine afternoon, and he was adding to i most heartily.

The second is the first medal I've awarded to a nonhuman.
The bearer of this Specal Award is a classroom toy lion named Leo who travels home with any of his classmates who are having a birthday, and stays from one year to the next with the same grade (perhaps grade four?) always remaining twelve years old himself (quite a feat).

On his scale all those visits must constitute quite a trip, so when I met him and his hosts at the time while hitching it became immediately obvious that so valliant an explorer should be justly rewarded, and it was a happy coincidence that I happened to have a medal in his size with me.
