Just what it says on the tin, Folks. Commedia Dell'Arte is a very old Italian dramatic form which relies on each performer learning one of a sset of stock characters* well enough to improvise in, then running headdlong at a plot you write not long before going onstage. If you've read The Vampire Lestat, that's the kind of theatre he joins up with for a while. I'm in Brisbane right now, so that's where it's happening. On Monday at 2:45 we're going to ssee a free show on the subject at the Powerhouse arts centre at New Farm, and then meeting to discuss rehearsals and who gets which character. I've just had my brain set buzzing by this (http://www.ted.com/talks/paul_romer.html) TED talk, on the subject of new cities with alternative rules of engagement. Economic models and such. It srikes me that there are at least a few subculture communities online who would be so willing to pull up peg and move somewhere together to have a stab at utopia, if only there were somewhere to try it, and this idea could provide several of those somewheres. You should watch the talk. I'd love to discuss it with you.
